Our school is part of The Global Learning Project (GLP). We are part of a network of like-minded schools committed to equipping their pupils to make a positive contribution to a globalised world. The GLP helps us to develop an ethos promoting tolerance, fairness, respect, the developing world, the causes of poverty and what can be done to reduce it.

We also focus on international themes which include learning about other cultures, places and events outside of the UK. We enrich our curriculum with opportunities to learn about the wider world, for example through our International Week or through visits from international students. We also learn French as part of our curriculum and have a link school in Bordeaux, France with whom we correspond throughout the year.

Weekly Assemblies

Once a week, the children take part in a Global Learning Assembly. This looks at topical issues that are happening in this country and the rest of the world.

Global Learning Themes

Many Global Learning themes are covered in class activities. In Class 4, the Design and Technology topic was based on endangered animals that are represented by the WWF.
