Design Technology
Our Design and Technology curriculum is based on units of work from the Kapow Scheme. This provides a creative platform from which our pupils explore, create and develop their skills across a wide range of projects. Pupils in all year groups will explore structures, mechanisms, food technology and textiles. In Key Stage 2, projects also investigate electrical systems and the world of digital technology.
We are very fortunate to have Alpine Formula 1 based in Enstone. Our pupils are often invited to visit and have wonderful opportunities to see technology in action, and to speak to engineers and designers about their work. This is always a popular trip!
In all projects, pupils follow a structured learning journey which involves:
- Researching and learning the technical skills and vocabulary
- Planning and designing
- Making, testing and refining
- Evaluation and reflection.
