School Aims and Values including British Values

Our vision and values

Enstone Primary School has provided education in the community since 1875.  We offer all the advantages of a traditional, friendly, community-centred village school, whilst embracing change and always seeking to adapt and evolve to meet the needs of an ever-changing world.

Our mission statement and values are at the heart of everything we do. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils as confident, happy citizens.

Our Mission Statement

Happy, Motivated, Achieving

Promoting Fundamental British Values

In accordance with statutory guidance from the Department for Education we aim to actively promote British Values to ensure young people leave our school prepared for life in modern Britain. Pupils are encouraged to regard people of all faiths, races and cultures with respect and tolerance and understand that while different people may hold different views about what is ‘right’ and ‘wrong’, all people living in England are subject to its law.

The British Values are:

  • democracy
  • rule of law
  • individual liberty
  • mutual respect
  • tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs

Our Core Values

Respect, Kindness, Responsibility, Gratitude, Teamwork, Honesty, Perseverance

These are the values which underpin our daily work and play.

Our Values Animal Stories

To help our younger pupils to understand and name our school values, we have linked an animal to each value.  The stories of these animals explain how they came by their names.  Most of them were written by the pupils themselves, during a writer's workshop day.

We hope you enjoy them!
