Enstone Primary School was founded in 1875 and is situated in the village of Enstone. The village has a population of around 1,300 living within 5 hamlets. Enstone is situated 16 miles north west of Oxford, midway between Woodstock and Chipping Norton. The village has a shop, Post Office and church. There is a strong sense of community in the village and there are many varied activities available for people of all ages. The school is strongly supported within the local community.

The school has approximately 100 pupils divided into 4 classes, covering F1 to Year 6. The Headteacher is supported by the equivalent of 4 full time teachers and 6 teaching assistants.  The school offers all the advantages of a traditional, friendly village school.  The school is in the Chipping Norton Partnership and the majority of pupils transfer to Chipping Norton School at the end of year 6.  There is a Pre-school on the same site and the school has a thriving Friends organisation.

The ethos of the school is to provide a high quality education to all its pupils and to encourage children to learn for themselves, to think creatively and critically, and to feel confident in exploring new ideas. Besides fulfilling the requirements of the National Curriculum, we also have particular strengths in music and sport with a large number of after school clubs and activities. The school was described as an outstanding school by OFSTED in October 2009.
